The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks will remain on the road Saturday to face the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs at 7 pm ET on September 10 at Joe Aylett Stadium. The Lumberjacks are struggling after a win, and Louisiana Tech could be reeling from a loss.
Stephen F. Austin didn’t have much breathing room in last week’s contest against the Alcorn State Braves, but still came away with a 31-27 win. The win came after a strong performance after halftime to overcome a 24-10 deficit.
Meanwhile, the oddsmakers predicted a tough matchup for Louisiana Tech last Thursday, and boy were they right. They finished on the wrong side of a painful 52-24 loss at the hands of the Missouri Tigers. At the end of the third quarter, Louisiana Tech was down 38-10, which was too much to recover from. The losing side was paced by WR Cyrus Allen, who caught five passes for two TDs and 121 yards. Near the top of the highlight reel was Parker McNeil’s 64-yard TD bomb to Allen in the fourth quarter.
Louisiana Tech’s loss dropped them to 0-1, while Stephen F. Austin’s win lifted them to 1-1. We’ll see if Louisiana Tech can steal the Lumberjacks’ luck, or if Stephen F. Austin can pick up another win instead.
