Molly Goddard unveils her SS23 collection at London Fashion Week.

The Molly Goddard SS 23 collection debuted this weekend at London Fashion Week, the line was the expected tulle confection the designer is known for. Neon and pastel flats took to the runway, paired with the designer’s take on the dress shirt. A more suitable option for those who are not so brave. Western boots and leather flats in bright patterns were worn by the models creating a more casual finish to the usual heels and platforms shown by the designer “I was thinking pre-internet red carpets. These are images I love and often go to for inspiration, dressed more for the party and for myself. Much more casual, relaxed.” the designer commented about her collection. The models moved easily, walking around a gymnasium instead of a strobe-lit runway that gave the show a light, street-style vibe. Goddard showed a range of garments, many still loud, but in less bulky fabrics.

For the pièce de résistance, Goddard finished her show with ivory wedding dresses complete with Goddard’s signature volume. The latest dresses are indicative of Goddard expanding the brand into wedding dresses earlier this year with a twelve-piece collection for the contemporary bride in eggshell and bright white. The evening’s takeaway was that Goddard is actually more than a one-pony, aiming to evolve the brand forward while preserving the game we all love.
