No. 9 Georgia Tech Heads to South Carolina for Exhibition – Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Georgia Tech was recently ranked No. 9 in the AVCA Division 1 Coaches’ Top 25, the highest preseason ranking received by the Yellow Jackets in program history. The ninth-place finish ties Tech’s sixth-highest ranking in its 42-year history and marks the second consecutive season in the AVCA top 10 for the White and Gold.

Tech boasts 13 returnees from the 2021 Elite Eight team for the 2022 season, including a reigning ACC and AVCA Player of the Year as well as a first-team All-American. Julia Bergman with an All-ACC second team selection Breland Morissette and a member of the ACC All-Freshman Team Bianca Bertolino. The incumbents are joined by five newcomers, including a pair of transfers in All-Americans. Tamara Otten (State of Illinois) and Tally Marmen (UCF) with new students dear white, Anna Bozzi And Mikayla White. The reigning AVCA East Coast Region Coach of the Year Michelle Collier She leads the Jackets for the ninth time.

After the exhibition, Tech will open the regular season on the road at the Ole Miss Invitational against host Ole Miss (Aug. 26) at Oxford, Miss. The Jackets will make their official return to O’Keeffe Gymnasium by hosting the GT Invitational. , starting at Dayton (September 2).

Tech’s schedule is highlighted by 13 matches against 2021 NCAA Tournament teams, four at home against Dayton (Sept. 2), BYU (Sept. 8), Ohio State (Sept. 11) and Pitt (Oct. 19). The Jackets will host 14 regular season games on the Flats, most notably the aforementioned Pitt matchup at the Thrillerdome. The event will mark the first volleyball game at McMish Pavilion since the Alexander Memorial Coliseum was renamed and renovated. The remaining 13 games will be played in O’Keeffe Gymnasium, including two home contests.
