Bollywood superstar and Bigg Boss 16 host Salman Khan had left contestants elated when he announced that no one will be evicted from the show in the first week. Today, we saw him declare the results of the first eviction round. Television actress Sreejita De was ousted from the house after she failed to get enough votes.

Sreejita could not beat MC Stan, Gori Nagori, Shalin Bhanot and Tina Datta after being nominated by captain Gautam Singh Vig. The actress was named by Gautam post her ugly spat with Gori. She had even faced backlash from netizens for comments about the dancer’s upbringing.

Today, Salman announced that Sreejita has been eliminated. After leaving everyone in shock, he said, “Sreejita, bahot achchi thi aap is ghar ke andar. May God bless you. Yaha se nikalne ke baad aap bahot achcha kaam kare aur khush rahe. You take care of yourself.”

The contestants were initially in disbelief but when the host didn’t come back, they bid adieu to Sreejita. MC Stan hugged her and said that he felt he would get out this week.

Soon after the episode aired online, the actress shared a post on Instagram. Sharing a video montage of her journey, she wrote, “Thank you for all the love and support shown to me, it has been an incredible journey with a lot of ups and downs. Big Boss house was an experience that will live in my heart forever. Love, Sreejita.”

The elimination has left Sreejita’s fans disappointed. A comment on her post read: “You deserved better.” Another called the decision ‘unfair.’ A comment read, “You were amazing Sreejita. I’m Proud of you and your journey.”
