Athens, Ga. Coming off their best start since 2018, the Texas Tech Red Raiders swept the College of Charleston Cougars 25-21, 25-19, 25-13 on Friday afternoon at Stegeman Coliseum. Tech moves to 4-0 on the season after picking up their first win of the Bulldog Classic.

The first set was a back-and-forth affair with both teams exchanging points early. Tied at 8-8, three-straight kills from Sauer gave the Red Raiders an 11-8 lead. Charleston cut Tech’s lead to 15-14, but the Red Raiders got three more points on kills from Jones and Sauer. Tech ended the rally with a 3-1 run with kills from Marsak and Sauer to put the Cougars up 25-21.
Prepare two
Like the first set, the second set started with another tie. Charleston took a 4-2 lead to start the set, but Tech got three points to tie it at 5-all with tallies from Marsak and O’Brien. Tied at 12-12, the Red Raiders went on a 3-0 run sparked by a Cougars error. Leading 21-18, Correa would get a kill of her own after a tough dig, then Tech won three of the next four points to win the match 25-19.

Texas Tech started the third set on a high note, going on a 6-1 run. The Cougars picked things up and cut the lead to 8-7 in favor of Tech, but another kill from Sawyer allowed the Red and Black to keep the advantage. Another 5-0 Tech run went on when Jones hit a kill shot. The Cougars scored just three more points as the Red Raiders completed the sweep with a 25-13 third set.
