Tech third in ACC preseason poll, three preseason All-ACC honorees – Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets


Greensboro, NC – No. 9 Georgia Tech volleyball was selected to finish third in the preseason All-ACC team polls in the 2022 ACC preseason coaches poll. Julia Bergman, Bianca Bertolino And Erin MossThe league office announced Tuesday.

The announcement marks the third straight year the Jackets have finished third in the conference, with multiple preseason All-ACC selections. The Brazilian was the driving force behind Tech’s famed attack, leading the ACC in both points and kills as she was a one-time Player of the Week and a five-time ACC Player of the Week.

Bertolino heads into 2021 after being named to the league’s best freshman season on The Flats by the ACC All-Freshman Team. Moss, meanwhile, was one of the nation’s most efficient hitters a season ago, ranking third in the ACC in hitting percentage at a .381 clip. That mark ranks among the best in Yellow Jacket history, seventh in the 100 percent percentage in a season.

The White and Gold finished the historic 2021 season at 26-6 overall and 14-4 in ACC play after advancing to the Elite Eight for the second time in program history. The Jackets made their first NCAA Tournament appearance since advancing to the Big Dance for five consecutive seasons from 2000-04.

Tech opens the regular season on the road at the Ole Miss Invitational, taking on host Ole Miss in Oxford on Friday at 5 p.m. (September 2)
