Lubbock, Texas – The Big 12 Conference has announced Monday’s 2:30 p.m. CT opener for Texas Tech’s conference opener against Texas on Sept. 24 at Jones AT&T Stadium. National broadcast listings will be finalized after Sept. 17, but it was announced that it will be shown on either ABC or ESPN.
Texas Tech and Texas will open Big 12 play for the third straight season on Sept. 24. This will be the 72nd all-time meeting between the two schools and the 63rd consecutive year the two in-state rivals have met. . The Red Raiders are looking for their first win over Texas since winning in Austin in 2017. The last two games in Lubbock in 2018 and 2020 were one-point wins for the Longhorns due to a 41-34 score in 2018 and a 63-56 overtime loss to Tech in 2020.
