After XSET’s 2-0 loss to Valorant Champions OPTIC Gaming, team EGL Rory ‘Diffh’ Jackson and head coach OPTIC accused OPTIC of using technical stoppages to slow their momentum.
In the final question of the losing press conference, XSET’s IGL was asked if OPTIC used any mind games in their games since the two teams have faced each other four times this year alone.
“I think the only mind games that the optic uses are finding ways to get a tech stop in pretty big rounds or before big rounds.” Defh said. “Every time we play those guys, it seems like there’s a tech hiatus. Of course, most things are out of their hands or whatever.
Optik called a tech stop on the second map, when it came up the scoreline was 12-11 in XSET’s favor and Optik was coming back from a heavy deficit. The Green Tower called a halt for technical issues on the final map before Pearl’s break, which was longer and involved Victor ‘Victor’ Wong swapping in a new computer for the match.
“The technology is stagnant, it seems to tire the pace at times, it comes at bad times after tactical breaks and things and big wins. “It’s a shame, but we want a very motivated team and we want to roll and we have to wait for 30 minutes in each round,” Defeh said.
XSET head coach Don ‘SyykoNT’ Muir chimed in after the def saying that he had raised the issue with Riot Games and that he believed it was intentional from OPTIC.
“When we play online it’s no different than when we play here on the platform,” SyykoNT said. After we got the win, Tech stopped and after I called, Tech stopped. [a timeout]… You know, it’s intentional and it’s an abuse of the law in my view.

Optik then responded to XSET’s frustration with technical fouls when they were told their opponents had caused problems with their timing.
When asked what the technical delay was, the team said that Victor’s computer micro was stuttering. Optics IGL Poojan ‘FNS’ Mehta said some players in the team went to the bathroom during the second tech break while managers waited to resolve the issue.
When asked if the time off was intentional, the optics coach ChetChetSingh says Riot will not allow such a thing to happen.
“There was no intention of liking them on anything. The PC wasn’t really working properly,” Chet said in a press conference after the game.

Optics Jacob ‘YayWhittaker said that before the team called a tech hiatus, Victor killed three people while playing with a micro-stutter. The team laughed off the accusations and said they could prove why the umpires were called for a break.
“We don’t need fraud to beat them,” the FNS concluded its press release.
OpTic advances to the upper bracket finals to face LOUD at the Valorant Championship, while XSET advances to the lower bracket to face FunPlus Phoenix.
