The Huskies will fall to the Bulldogs on Friday at SDC








Houghton, Mich – The Michigan Tech volleyball team fell 3-0 to Ferris State on Friday (Sept. 16) in the SDC gym. The Bulldogs won 25-14, 25-18 and 25-19.

FSU (5-6, 3-0 GLIAC) led from start to finish. Kills by Lindy Oujiri and Meg Rabe got the Huskies within four at 15-11 in the first set, but the visitors closed with a 9-1 run to take the lead. Jenny Grindland scored three kills in the first and had several first touches at the net.

The Bulldogs took a five-point lead in the second. Oujiri, Morgan Radtke and Makenna Wesol had kills as FSU went on a 5-0 run to cut the deficit to 2-0 before taking a 2-0 halftime lead. Wesol killed three people in seconds.

Tech forced Ferris into five offensive errors in the third. Brooke Dzwick and Jillian Kuizenga combined for six kills, but Ferris led by as many as six and closed out the win with a 9-5 run.

Olivia Heidel led the offense with 23 digs and Carissa Beier had 12 digs on defense. Jennie led Greenland Tech to six kills, while six other Huskies had at least three kills.

Claire Noicki had 15 kills for the Bulldogs, Ollie Henman-Dalape had 14. Kaylee Matta had 36 assists and Leah Baillut had 20 digs.

Tech is now 6-4 overall and 0-3 in the GLIAC and will host Lake Superior State on Saturday at 2 p.m.
