Remember the iconic ‘Chunari Chunari’? Well, turns out Sushmita Sen has not only starred opposite Salman Khan in several movies, but she was his fan way before she began acting with him in movies. Going down memory lane when Sushmita once mentioned how huge of a fan she is of her Biwi No. 1 and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya co-star Salman Khan.

In one of Bollywood Hungama’s interviews following the release of her web series Aarya on Disney+ Hotstar, the actress had admitted that she would put together her pocket money to buy Khan’s posters. “I have to tell you, before Biwi No. 1, I had never met Salman and I was a huge fan and I had spent all my pocket money to buy posters of Maine Pyar Kiya,” she shared.
“I was a big fan. And then, when Biwi No. 1 was offered, I finally met him in America, first schedule was there. Salman walked in and it took me a little while to fathom that there he was, and I was going to act opposite him. I told him about this story and guess what he did. He said since you loved Maine Pyar Kiya, I am going to make Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya with you,” she said with a laugh before adding “And he did.”
After tremendous success of Disney+ Hotstar web series Aarya, Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen is now gearing up for another web series. Recently, it was announced that the evergreen actress has signed another web series Taali – for OTT platform Voot – a biography where she is set to play transgender activist Gauri Sawant. Speaking of Taali, the biopic is created by Arjun Singgh Baran & Kartk D Nishandar, directed by National award-winning director Ravi Jadhav, and produced by Arjun Singgh Baran, Kartk D Nishandar & Afeefa Nadiadwala. The six-episode drama will showcase several aspects of Sawant’s life, the challenges, the journey and her relationship with her daughter Gayatri.
The shoot for the series has commenced. She will then embark on shooting the third season of Aarya early next year. Meanwhile, Sushmita has also signed a biopic whose rights have been acquired by Mansi Bagla of Mini Films and photographer Subi Samuel’s Bungalow No 84, joined by Soham Rockstar Entertainment. The feature is set to go on floors by the end of this year.
