MOUNT VERNON, NY — Commuters in Westchester County are going to want to allow some extra travel time coming and going this week.
The New York State Thruway Authority says the left lane in both directions of the Cross County Parkway is scheduled to close at Exit 9 (Hutchinson River Parkway) in Mount Vernon, for several days this week.
The lanes will be closed from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m., between Monday, August 22 until Thursday, August 25, for guide rail installation.
All work is weather dependent and subject to change, the Thruway Authority said.
The NYSDOT is reminding drivers to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of your driver’s license.
