Georgia Tech is gearing up for a big recruiting weekend starting tomorrow and both commits and hopefuls are set to hit the Flats Friday-Sunday. This will be an opportunity for head coach Brent Key to close out the 2023 school year on a strong note.
So who will be in Atlanta this weekend?
According to 247Sports, the top player reported to be in Atlanta this weekend is defensive lineman Caleb Bryant from Vicksburg, MS. Bryant is headed to Mississippi State, but this will be an opportunity for Georgia Tech’s staff to make an impression on a talented defensive line.
Offensive lineman Benjamin Galloway will be there this weekend. Galloway got a visit from new offensive line coach Jeff Wade this week and is one of the Yellow Jackets’ highest-rated recruits.
The other commitment to run alongside Galloway will be wide receiver Bryce Dopson (Brookwood High School, GA). Since Key was hired, Dopson has received several visits from coaches and appears to be a lock with the Yellow Jackets.
Georgia Tech’s top target is South Atlanta High School (GA) Taye Seymour, a former East Carolina commit. The talented linebacker will be at Georgia Tech tomorrow, backing off his longtime commitment to the Pirates. This visit could be the key to locking Seymour in for this class (no pun intended).
Three-star athlete Cameron Wallace will also be in town this weekend. This is another top target who plays multiple positions and got a tour from the coaches last week. Penn State is heavily pursuing Wallace so this visit will be important.
Georgia Tech doesn’t have a running back in this class, but they do have a chance to get IMG Academy (FL) commit Evan Dickens, a former Coastal Carolina commit. Dickens is a talented player and Tech would like to add a running back. Arkansas State, USF, Western Kentucky, Kent State, Georgia State and Air Force are some of the other programs that have offered Dickens.
Linebacker Michael Montgomery has decided to visit this weekend, according to 247Sports. Montgomery visited the Yellow Jackets during the summer. Other offers for the linebacker include Arizona, Arkansas, Oregon, Washington and South Carolina.
The final visitor scheduled to be in Atlanta is Nakari Ashley from Marietta High School (GA). Ashley is a 6’5 205 LBS athlete with offers from Buffalo, East Carolina and Toledo.
This weekend will be a big one for Georgia Tech’s recruiting efforts and we’ll see if the Yellow Jackets can find some new prospects this weekend.
