Williamstown–Williamstown restaurants are served by America’s best restaurants.

DaVinci will visit America’s Best Restaurants, a national media and marketing company, when he visits the restaurant on Oct. 20 at ABR’s road show, which focuses on local, independently owned restaurants.

Popular dishes are highlighted in an extensive on-camera interview with owner Chris Bender about the restaurant’s place in the community. The event will be broadcast widely on social media channels in the coming days.

Open since 1980, Da Vinci’s is an icon in the Williamstown area. There is seating for up to 650 guests on three floors, including private dining areas for events and a 60-seat outdoor patio.

Originally owned by Jim and Marilyn Pettit, the restaurant is now owned and operated by Bender, who served as a server and then manager for the Pettits for 30 years before purchasing the business. Bender says she never intended to stay this long, but it’s her love for the people that keeps her going.

“(I love) the people, the relationships not only with the customers but with the staff, the people you meet and their stories.” She said.

Some workers have worked on Da Vinci almost since it was opened.

Bender also showed the consistency of the food in the restaurant. The menu is Italian with daily, nightly and Sunday specials.

Among the favorites are the spaghetti Mona Lisa and the German pizza with horseradish sauce, corned beef and sauerkraut. She said that both of them might appear on the show.

Da Vinci has an in-house pastry chef. The Mile High Lemon Meringue Cake and the Frosted Coconut Caramel Cake are favorites, Bender said.

America’s Best Restaurants will film from 2-5 pm EST. Episode air dates will be announced on the Facebook page and posted on the America’s Best Restaurants website at https://americasbestrestaurants.com/west-virginia/davincis-restaurant.

DaVinci is located at 215 Highland Ave.
