Ben McWhirter was named to the bank’s board
Benjamin A. McWhirter II has been named to Redwood Capital Bank’s board of directors, effective Aug. 17, the company announced in a news release.
“The board of directors, senior management and employees are very pleased to welcome Ben McWhorter to the board of directors,” CEO John Dalby said in a prepared statement. “Mr. McWhirter brings youth, vibrancy, commitment and experience to our Board of Directors. Ben has demonstrated his passion for this community through his family business and volunteer work.”
McWhorter is a native of Humboldt County; In the year McWhorter taught agriculture at Ferndale High School for seven years. He is now part-owner of Sequoia Elp Gas Company, a family business since 1941.
Coast Central has named a new IT vice president
Coast Central Credit Union has announced the appointment of Vaughn Peterson as vice president of information systems, the company announced this week. Peterson is responsible for the technology aspects of the organization, ensuring maximum network security and compliance across all systems, increasing efficiency and improving operations, monitoring trends to enhance the credit union’s products and services, and overseeing a team of 11 employees.
Peterson brings more than 20 years of information technology experience to Coast Central, most recently serving as the Chief Technology Officer of Cyprus Credit Union in West Jordan, Utah.
Peterson has a BS in Cyber Security from the University of Maryland College. He is currently pursuing an MS from the SNS Institute, and plans to graduate next summer.
“When I considered moving to California, I was immediately drawn to Coast Central as a great organization to work for, its strong management team and its beautiful location on the North Coast,” Peterson said in a prepared statement. “I am excited about my new roots in Humboldt County and serving Coast Central members and teams for many more years.”
