After 25 years of operating The Manor and later The Draft House Bar & Grill at 42 West Boylston St. in West Boylston, the Fotiadis family is handing over the operation of the business to chefs who have worked for the family for two years. Savvas Fotiadis, who owns and operates the banquet and restaurant with his sister Katerina Fotiadis-Rajotte and brother Antonios (Tony) Fotiadis, confirmed that as of October 1, the business is being leased by chef Francis Uche and his sous chef Francis Kula. Fotiadis said there will be no menu or staffing changes at either business.

A Texas-based developer has proposed an apartment complex with 220 apartments on Lincoln Street, according to documents filed with the Planning Board. Maple Multi-Family Development LLC, of Dallas, plans to develop a vacant 580,000-square-foot site at 3 Oriol Drive. Oriol Drive is off Lincoln Street, equidistant between the Lincoln Street/Boylston Street Rotary and Lincoln Plaza. The plans include two-story buildings with a total of 230,000 square feet and 344 parking spaces. The Planning Board was asked to take up the application from Alexan Worcester at its October 12 meeting.

The Zoning Board of Appeals approved two special permits Monday for a 218-unit residential project on Shrewsbury Avenue. Lundgren Equity Partners of Auburn has purchased an approximately 205,000-square-foot, seven-story building at 225 Shrewsbury St. And he proposed to build on the back of the shopping plaza on Albany Street in front. The proposed building will have approximately 50 studio and 50 two-room apartments. The rest will be one-room apartments. The plaza also includes a Mexicali Cantina Grill and in-house coffee shop. The building was once home to the outlaw Cadillac Pontiac. The industrial building at 68 Albany St. is slated for demolition and conversion to a 120-space parking lot.

Construction began Monday at Providence and Boston roads in Sutton, where a local packaging company plans to open a 1 million-square-foot warehouse and manufacturing facility. UN1F1ED² Global Packaging, an international packaging company headquartered in Sutton, plans to construct two buildings on a 448-acre site. RP Masiello Inc. of Boylston. A representative of the contractor did not say how long the project would take to complete, but said it would be “several years.” UN1F1ED² specializes in the production of foam packaging, air packaging and wood packaging materials for industries ranging from commercial to life sciences.
