Dutchie launches a new cannabis sales platform with its own dual-screen registry – TechCrunch


Dutch is today announcing a new cannabis sales platform, including a dual-screen terminal for distributors. Called Dutchie POS, this comes just weeks after the company announced Dutch Pay’s new payment platform.

With Dutchie POS and Dutchie Pay, the cannabis technology company is now offering cannabis operators one of the most comprehensive platforms to manage their dispensaries. The new sales method serves both the group receiver and the customer. Butender’s view is customizable and features front-end functions to improve customer interaction while still reporting inventory management and regulatory compliance information.

Ross and Zach Lipson co-founded Dutchess in 2017 and have raised $603 million to date. In the year As of November 2021, the company is valued at $3.75 billion. Dutchie now employs about 700 people.

Zach Lipson spoke to TechCrunch ahead of the Dutch POS launch, a solution built to handle all sizes of dispensaries. “It’s intuitive and simple enough for SMBs and mid-market retailers, but scalable to enterprise-level distributors and MSOs.”

The Dutch will begin work on this platform in 2021, and Lipson says it is starting with extreme caution. The company said it spoke to “literally hundreds” of retailers to get insights. The company acquired Greenbits and Lephlogix to start development of the sales platform.

“The premise is that we want to provide the best of both worlds with Lephlogix and Greenbits,” Lipson said. This also seems to be a combination of power, solid configuration, and that’s what Leaflogix’s does so well. We were constantly hearing from retailers that they wanted the technology to fit into their operations and basically get out of the way.

According to Lipson, a point-of-sale platform for retailers can be fully customized to the retailer’s standard operating procedures to provide a unified, integrated experience. “This is absolutely critical,” he said. There are many different ways operators can manage their distributions. And it is very important that they are built in practical efficiency with their limitations.

The new hardware terminal is critical to the sales offering in the Netherlands. There are two screens: the client gets a 10-inch screen while the budder works with a 15-inch screen.

“The display in front of the customer holds a lot of power,” Lipson said. “We’ve seen this in other retail environments from local coffee shops or traditional retail, but not yet here in cannabis. So that’s really exciting, and we’ll be doing a lot of customer-facing demos in the near future.

Dutchie is launching this Dutch POS nationwide and in Canada. The platform is sold through a SaaS offering, and pricing varies per usage.
