Let’s begin with our top story. Bollywood actor Katrina Kaif has been named in the ‘Most Searched Asians Worldwide 2022’ list by Google. Katrina earned the 4th spot while Alia Bhatt is in the 5th position. Katrina will be next seen in Yash Raj Films’ upcoming action thriller film Tiger 3 alongside Salman Khan, which is slated to hit theatres on Diwali in 2023. Apart from that, she also has Sriram Raghavan’s film Merry Christmas opposite south actor Vijay Sethupathi and Farhan Akhtar’s movie, Jee Le Zara, alongside Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra in the pipeline.
“Moving on, Veteran actor Anupam Kher on Thursday, 15th December shared a mega milestone of his filmography as he started shooting for his 533rd movie, Metro In Dino, directed by Anurag Basu.
Taking to Instagram, Anupam Kher dropped a video featuring the director. In the caption, he wrote, “Presenting my 533rd film! Today is our first day.”” The music of Metro In Dino will be scored by Pritam just like the super-hit numbers of Basu’s 2007 film, Life In A Metro.
Metro In Dino also boasts an ensemble cast of Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Ali Fazal and Fatima Sana Shaikh.”
“Actor Bhumi Pednekar is currently seen in the film Govinda Naam Mera, in which she plays a woman living life on her own terms. Bhumi says that this is nothing new for her because she has always been inclined towards female characters who show strength and independence.
The actor, who made her acting debut with Dum Laga Ke Haisha in 2015 and ever since has been part of many films in leading roles, says playing such characters is her way of contributing to Indian society. Elaborating on this thought, in a recent interview, the actor said that – she loved playing women who “”challenge the status quo in society and change the lens on gender.”””
Meanwhile, Actor Shah Rukh Khan inaugurated the 28th edition of the Kolkata International Film Festival alongside Amitabh Bachchan on Thursday 15th December. During his speech at the event, SRK, who is awaiting the release of Pathaan, touched upon the adverse impacts of social media and the negativity that spreads in society through social media platforms. Ever since Pathaan’s song “Besharam Rang” was released, it has been trending on Twitter. Some are even calling for a boycott of his movie. The actor pointed out how social media was “driven” by “narrowness of views” and such pursuits enclose the collective narrative, making it divisive and destructive.”
“As excitement surrounds cricketer KL Rahul and actor Athiya Shetty’s upcoming nuptials, dad Suniel Shetty has swiftly shut down the rumours. The couple has been dating for several years now and doesn’t hold back from social media PDA and sharing photos.
Suniel Shetty said in a recent interview – The press should let him know when they get the confirmed dates so he could attend the wedding! The two will reportedly, tie the knot in a grand South Indian wedding at the actor’s residence in Khandala between January 21-23. After a 17-year-old girl was attacked with acid in Delhi, actor Kangana Ranaut took to social media and recalled the horrific experience of her sister, Rangoli Chandel. Rangoli was 21 when she was attacked with acid and suffered third-degree burns. Kangana had once mentioned that half of Rangoli’s face was burnt, and she lost vision in one eye, lost a year and a breast was severely damaged. She reflected that – These atrocities hadn’t stopped and that the “government needs to act very strongly against these crimes.” Rangoli is now married and has a five-year-old son Prithviraj.
Meanwhile, after Nora Fatehi sued actor Jacqueline Fernandez for alleged defamatory remarks the latter made against her, the dancer recently shared an Instagram story hinting about the same. Both Nora and Jacqueline have been questioned in the Rs 200 crore extortion case against conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. In the cryptic post, Nora mentioned that she wasn’t raised to take advantage of people in sticky situations. Jacqueline and Nora had allegedly received expensive gifts from Chandrashekhar but, Nora denied receiving any such gift. On the work front, Nora was last seen in An Action Hero, dancing to Jheda Nasha with Ayushmann Khurrana.
Lastly, Filmmaker Anees Bazmee is annoyed with the constant speculation surrounding Hera Pheri 3. Earlier, fans were upset when Akshay Kumar said that he would not be a part of the film. There were also rumours that Kartik Aaryan would step into his place. The original franchise starred Akshay, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal. The director in a recent interview said that – he can only “take a call after seeing the final script” of the third instalment. The first Hera Pheri film was released in the year 2000 and was directed by Priyadarshan. The film was a huge hit and a sequel was released in 2006, this time, directed by Neeraj Vora.
