Let’s begin with our top story. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback vehicle Pathaan has been in the news ever since the lead star was first spotted filming portions of the feature abroad. And now, the trailer is finally said to be unveiled on January 10th on social media platforms. According to reports, the makers had planned to reveal the first trailer two weeks before the film’s release. This trailer announcement comes days after CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi confirmed that some changes had been suggested in the film. Pathaan also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.The Siddharth Anand directorial hits cinemas on January 25.
Moving on. Hrithik Roshan has been known for his super-fit physique from his early days in the movies. In a recent chat with his fitness trainer Kris Gethin, the actor opened up about striking a healthy balance in his life with his work, lifestyle and diet. The actor also shared that while filming his last biggest hit War, he wasn’t feeling good, “emotionally and physically”. When Kris asked why he felt so, Hrithik said that he wasn’t prepared for the demands of the film and felt that he was up against a “big challenge.” The Vikram Vedha actor said he was scared that if he did not achieve that, “people would know that he wasn’t that good.”
Katrina Kaif is now one of Bollywood’s biggest female stars, but when she was about to make her debut in the Indian film industry, she adopted her father’s name when she joined Bollywood. But in several interviews over the years, Katrina said that she didn’t stay in touch with her father, reportedly a Kashmiri man settled abroad after he separated from her mother when she was very young. In an interview, she said that she ‘missed’ having a father around while she was growing up and also shared that her father has not attempted to reconnect with her now that she is a well-known figure. She will next be seen in Tiger 3 and Merry Christmas.
Meanwhile, Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor, who mostly lives in London now with her husband Anand Ahuja and son Vayu, has sold her Mumbai home. The luxury apartment is located near the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai and has been sold for a hefty price of Rs 32.5 crore. A discrepancy can be noticed in the reporting of how much she paid for the apartment in 2015, with figures ranging from Rs 17 crore to Rs 31 crore. According to the documents acquired by Squarefeet India, the house has a 5,533 sq. ft built-up area and the new owner will get car parking for four cars. Sonam will return to acting with Shome Makhija’s Blind, where she plays a visually challenged cop.
Actor Seema Pahwa regained popularity in the recent past with films like Gangubai Kathiawadi and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, among others. Before she made it big, in the 1980s, Seema worked extensively in various Delhi theatre groups from a young age. In a recent interview, Seema recalled that it was during those days that she worked in the kind of theatre that was dubbed as “vulgar” at the time. In a chat with Rekhta Foundation, Seema shared that she was constantly looking for work that could pay her more money. That’s when she stumbled upon one such theatre group but Seema had no idea what she was performing on stage and shared that all their dialogues were “double meaning”.
“Meanwhile, actor Alia Bhatt, who received a lot of acclaim for her performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi, was recently praised for her incredible work in the film by BFI (British Film Institute) National Archive’s Robin Baker. In his Instagram caption, Baker wrote that if he was a BAFTA or Academy member, he would vote for Alia Bhatt in the Best Actress category.
He called Bhatt’s performance “sensational” and called the film “big, brash, sentimental and hugely enjoyable.” The film is currently in the middle of a campaign at the Oscars and the BAFTAs. As per reports, it has been submitted for all the key categories including – Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress and others for the 95th Academy Awards.”
“Veteran actor Gulshan Grover on Wednesday, 4th January took to Twitter to share a picture of himself with Mahesh Bhatt and expressed gratitude towards the latter for encouraging him.
Gulshan also met filmmaker Vikram Bhatt and actor Pooja Bhatt and mentioned them in the caption of the photo. Fans couldn’t get enough of the post and flooded it with comments. Talking about his ‘Bad Man’ tag, Gulshan Grover had earlier said in an interview that he deliberately chose the ‘Bad Man’ villainous roles. He said – “”I chased those roles and moulded them to create a brand. That’s because I had made a decision that I will only do villainous roles and nothing else. And I am proud of it.””
“Lastly, actor Rakul Preet Singh-starrer slice-of-life drama Chhatriwali will release on ZEE5 on January 20, the makers have announced on Wednesday, 4th January. The announcement was also shared by ZEE5 on their official Twitter page.
The film is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar. Set in Haryana, the movie features Rakul in the role of a quality control head in a condom factory. It also stars actor Sumeet Vyas. According to the makers, Chhatriwali aims to drive home a strong social message on the importance of male contraceptives and safe sex.”
