• For the first time in program history, Old Dominion will open the season at home against a Power Five team. ODU hosts Virginia Tech on ESPNU.

• ODU opens season against Power Five opponent. The Kings opened last year at Wake Forest, also on Friday.

• ODU went 6-7 last season, winning its final five games of the regular season to qualify for the Myrtle Beach Bowl. ODU has won five-straight by an average score of 36-22.
