Genies Launches Its NFT Fashion Marketplace ‘The Warehouse’


After making headlines thanks to her collaborations with celebrities like Justin Bieber and Cardi B, the tech startup gin has announced the launch of its new fashion NFT marketplace. Called ‘The Store’, the platform allows users to create their own digital avatars and also dress them up in NFT designs.

Making NFTs fashionable

Based on the Flow blockchain, The Warehouse will be home to a number of bespoke collections and Genies is currently working to bring them to life. Among the designers who are said to be releasing collections on the site is the influencer Uncle Bruening.

Not only that, but fans will be able to customize the pieces they buy on the market and even turn them into their own collections.

Let’s say if a fan or follower or someone within the community decides to buy it for their avatar, they also now have the right to be able to modify it or make it themselves within the studio platform so they can use tools and create a derivative collection and then sell the derivative fashion line at The Warehouse“, say Akash NigamCEO of Genies, in a statement to TechCrunch.

Given how much fashion is derivative and inspired, this creates a traceable connection in terms of the inspiration behind each piece. And because these items are blockchain-based, the original creators also get a cut of the sales profit.
