Georgia Tech baseball has been busy stockpiling talent for the 2023 class, and it paid off with one of the best classes in the country. According to perfectgame.org, Georgia Tech currently has the 4th ranked division, which is the best in the ACC and by a good margin.
Miami is the next closest team in the 2023 rankings, ranked 11th. That’s good news for a Georgia Tech team that has eight players drafted in the 2022 MLB draft and needs help on the field soon. It may not be next year, but this is a talented group of guys for the Yellow Jackets and most of them come from the state of Georgia. The ACC is the best conference in baseball and a division like this is how you win.
Five of the eighteen commitments to Georgia Tech are top 100 players. Some of the standouts include shortstop Antonio Anderson from North Atlanta High School, outfielder Drew Burress from Houston Country High School and outfielder Isaiah Drake from Westlake High School. Drake might be my favorite player in the class because of his speed in the field and ability to track the ball, and he’s great in the plus. He will be a very good all-around player for the Yellow Jackets in the near future.
The biggest demand for yellow jackets right now is breaking out. Despite having one of the best offenses in school history, the main reason this team didn’t make the NCAA Tournament was its pitching. There are some strong pitching prospects in this class, such as Tate McKee from Matt Paran Christian High School and Miller Greene from Lipscomb Academy in Nashville. Guys like Jackson Sobel, Jack Tucker, and Michal Kovala are some of the most popular names for future voiceovers.
Overall, this is a class that should keep Yellow Jackets fans excited for the foreseeable future. Not only is it one of the best in the ACC, it’s the best in the nation.
