Goblet Country’s Talking Turkey: Offensive and Defensive Challenges for the Virginia Tech Hokies

Football news

Before we get into the podcast, there’s some news with the football team that might be of interest to everyone heading into the 2022 season.

The 2022 football captains have been named:

Thus, they selected seven total captains for the Hokies this season.

Silas Dzansi, Caleb Smith and Grant Wells will represent the offense. The defensive leaders are Chamari Connor, Dax Holifield and Norrell Pollard. This season we see special teams represented by starting punter Peter Moore.

This is a great veteran team with great information on how Grant Wells did during the season. Both Dzansi and Pollard became leaders of their respective teams and respected within the team. Who doesn’t love the way Chamari always plays? Caleb became the #1 receiver in both experience and on-field effort as a favorite target of the Wells in the spring. Peter Moore started the season last year with little experience but still managed to put on a punting clinic level performance.

Congratulations to these Hokies and thanks for their leadership and effort.

The team will return to help on activity days

Brent Pry restores the team’s old Frank Beamer tradition by helping him do some homework.

Students on campus and their parents would certainly appreciate a great deal of help. It’s a great community relations thing for the team, and everyone loves it. It’s a happy memory for all involved.

Now let’s talk about Turkey
