With fall sports in full swing, Virginia Tech has a full schedule this weekend; Cross country, volleyball, men’s soccer and women’s soccer will be played at home, while Tech soccer and men’s golf will have their season openers on the road. Read below for more information on who each team will play, the dates of those matches and promotions for home events.

Buford Meredith Cross Country Course
Friday September 2 | 6 pm ET | Virginia Tech Invitational
The Hokies begin their season on Friday night when they host the Virginia Tech Invitational at 6pm at the Buford Meredith Cross Country Course.
Volleyball
Blacksburg, Va
Cassel Coliseum
Friday September 2 | Noon & 7 pm | With Coppin State and Marist
Saturday September 3 | 3 pm | with the Old Dominion
Tech will host the Hockey Invitational this weekend and will face three different opponents. It will play Coppin State starting Friday at noon. Later, at 1 p.m., he takes on Marist. To complete the weekend, he will face Old Dominion on Saturday at 3 p.m. You can stream all three matches on ACC Network Extra. Come to the Hockey Invitational for a weekend of fun! Monday September 5 | 5 o’clock in the afternoon | with Mercer
Tech opens Friday night against Radford at 7 p.m. Mercer visits Thompson Field on Monday at 5 p.m. Both games will be live on ACC Network Extra. Join us on Sunday for Youth Soccer Club Day with Hockey Kids Club for the whole family!

Sunday, September 4 | 5 o’clock in the afternoon | Charlotte vs
Tech returns to Thompson Field on Sunday for a 5 p.m. matchup with Charlotte, a game that will be televised on ACC Network Extra. Top goalkeeper Brave Burnett Before Sunday’s game, they will be known as Seniors, and fans can enjoy games, a bingo house and a snow cone drive before the game.

Women’s football
Thursday September 1 | 6 o’clock in the afternoon in the Old Dominion
Hoping to keep their undefeated season alive, the Hokies travel to Old Dominion for a Thursday night matchup at 6pm that can be streamed on ESPN+.
Football
Friday September 2 | 7 pm | in the Old Dominion
On Friday night, the Hokies travel to Norfolk, Virginia to take on Old Dominion at 7 p.m. You can watch their home opener live on ESPNU or tune in on the Virginia Tech Sports Network.
Men’s golf
Sunday, September 4-5 Irish classic fighting
Tech kicks off the season with a road trip to Notre Dame on Sunday for the Battle of the Irish Classic.
