Every day, a new company asks me how they can grow their business, get new customers, or increase their overall ROI. I ask them all the same question: Is your business on TikTok? And surprisingly, the answer is almost always “no”.

In the year In 2022, I’m shocked that most business owners don’t understand the importance of short-form video content, and TikTok in particular. When I ask business owners why they don’t use TikTok, the most common response I hear is “Oh, our customers don’t use TikTok.” There can be no more misunderstanding than this.

To understand more, let’s take a closer look at the demographics of Tik Tok users. Now at first you might be thinking that TikTok is full of little kids who love to dance, sing and make memes. You are not wrong. But what most people fail to realize is that Tik Tok’s audience is always changing. There are more older people using the platform than ever before. TikTok is the most downloaded app of 2021 with 656 million downloads for a reason. Now, it doesn’t sound like all 656 million downloads came from little kids, does it? And here’s the US-based percentage. Tik Tok users by age:

10-19: 32.5%

20-29: 29.5%

30-39: 16.4%

40-49: 13.9%

50+ 7.1%

This means that Tik Tok’s user base is only getting older! Well, no matter who you pitch to, you now know that there is a lot of potential for your business on TikTok. It doesn’t matter if your target customer is 14 years old or 45 years old, they all use TikTok. Whether you’re B2B or B2C, you’ll find that all your needs can be met with TikTok. nice. Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s see what specifically you can do to grow your presence on TikTok to grow your business.

After consulting with over 50 businesses and understanding their unique needs, here are some very important points that will help almost every business.

1. Think like an influencer, not a brand

The biggest mistake I see most businesses make when posting content is failing to think like an influencer. Take it from me. I have built more than 10 million followers on Tik Tok and more than 10 different accounts in different places. When every account is good, it’s because I take an influencer approach. I mean not to be gimmicky. Influencers won’t be seen pitching a product or service in each of their videos. The reason their follower base is so loyal is because influencers know the perfect mix of content and promotion. Great brands that have done this well include Chipotle, Duolingo and Morning Brew. Start approaching your content the same way.

2. Create compelling content

This is definitely a key point. If you can’t create compelling content, you’ll fail to build a following and ultimately grow your business. It is very important to research the best content to create and follow it properly. It doesn’t have to be perfect content, but just make sure it appeals to the audience. You can test this by creating a few drafts and asking others what they think of the content. Finally, you should plan to get honest feedback that can help you boost your account. This is where Tik Tok Trainer can really come in handy.

3. Stay consistent

I cannot stress this enough. It’s important to stay consistent with the content you create. If you can’t stay consistent, you’ll see very slow results or no results at all. A good tip is to create it every day without problems. If that’s too much, aim to create at least 4-5 pieces of content per week. However, more isn’t always better if you’re sacrificing the quality of the videos a lot. Consider a good balance of the two.

4. Use the best CTAs

This is very important for any business. Your goal is not to hit a million followers (although that would be very helpful for your real goals). Your main goal as a business is to see ROI through TikTok. That’s why it’s important to include great CTAs (calls to action). For example, a CTA adds a callout at the end of a video asking you to see a link in your bio for a discount code for a product. By incorporating great CTAs into your content, you can expect to see a tremendous ROI for your business.

5. Hire a good agency

I believe that everyone out there (who can afford this) should hire a good agency to help them with their special needs. I could sit here all day and give general advice to businesses to grow on TikTok. But if you don’t have personalization for your business, ultimately you won’t see the results you want. Now hiring an agency is not necessary at all. I see many business owners grow their social media following by themselves or their own group. But by hiring a good agency, you can save time, resources and effort – all of which you can put into your business. Not only that, good agencies will guide you through the process and teach you or your team specific strategies for branding on TikTok.

Well, that’s it folks! Those are my top tips for you to build your TikTok presence, grow your business and see the traction you’ve always wanted.
