“Stop moving because here are some tips and inspiration on how to dress better in the clothes you already own,” Eriksson said in a video uploaded to her 212k TikTok followers.

“I’ll show you lots of examples of simple, basic pieces that you hopefully already have in your closet to help you imagine how you can apply this to your wardrobe.”

The fashion enthusiast started with the concept of layering.

“So this is a tip you’re probably tired of hearing because everyone’s talking about it, but it really is the best way to enjoy any outfit, and I’m going to tell you why.”

Eriksson explained her first layering tip using the example of a woman wearing a pair of blue denim jeans.

She wore a black crop top with a long white button down, with a dark gray jacket thrown over it.

Eriksson touched on another example of layering that she said might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but thought was “very elegant.”

To replicate the look, grab a long-sleeved button-down top and layer a black cropped jacket over it.

Pair it with some jeans and high-heeled boots and you’re good to go.

The stylist also highlighted more subtle ways of layering in which you let something pop on the top or bottom of your outfit.

For example, wearing a button-down shirt with one of the sleeves hanging off the shoulder to reveal a hint of a lace bralette.

Or, wear a lace dress under a turtleneck sweater so the lace can peek through.

“And here’s another example of how to layer a basic outfit. You basically just layer a sweater or a knit sweater on top,” Eriksson said.

She also mentioned her favorite way to get laid like a pro. She said: “It’s three really basic pieces, but when put together it looks super chic.”

To create the look, layer a button-down shirt over a dress and throw a knit vest over the button down.

ACCESSORIES

With a simple hat or bag, Eriksson feels you can elevate any look and give your outfit new life.

She used an example of a woman wearing an oversized white button-up shirt.

The woman added pops of color to complete the look by accessorizing with a bright pink shoulder bag and top hat.

“Just think how plain and boring this would look if we took away the hat and bag,” Eriksson said.

Showing another great example of how accessories can change your look, she said: “Here’s also a super good example of how you can spice up just a casual running outfit with some jewellery.”

Adding stylish jewelry to your sporty look will take it to the next level.

MIX AND SUPPORT DIFFERENT TEXTURES

Mixing and matching different textures is another tried and true method for making the most of your wardrobe, according to Eriksson.

She showed an example of a woman wearing an outfit containing different textures and told viewers they should try to emulate it.

“For this outfit we’ve got a silk shirt, we’ve got a leather bag, we’ve got a knitted skirt and we’ve got fishnet stockings. So you start mixing and matching different textures and outfits that you haven’t thought of before.”
