Kanye joins the ranks of arrogant billionaires who are buying their own echo chamber • TechCrunch

After the storm Rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has announced his intention to buy the right-wing extremist “free speech” platform Parlor during the month of Racism, Anti-Semitism and Outright Weirdness.

Coincidentally, we’re sure, the app’s CEO is George Farmer, the husband of Kanye’s new best friend, conservative political pundit Candace Owens.

When Parlor’s parent company announced the deal yesterday, Kanye said he had “made a big shift into the free speech media space and no longer has to fear being removed from social media.”

“The proposed acquisition ensures Parlor’s future role in creating an inevitable ecosystem where all voices are welcome,” the company wrote in a statement. The deal is expected to close in the next quarter. The financial aspects of Kanye’s purchase of Parlor have not been disclosed.

In the past, billionaires and racists could say whatever they wanted, knowing the class they wanted to oppress wouldn’t call them out for fear of retribution or harm.

These days are not. With his deal to buy Parlor, Kanye represents yet another conservative billionaire trying to gain control and influence over social media platforms, using free speech as a pretext to incite hate speech and continue to breed right-wing ideologues.
