MILL HALL – The Keystone Central School District is ready to hire its new business manager.
In tonight’s work session, the board will discuss hiring Johnny McIntyre to replace Susan Blesh, who left the school district in September to take a position at Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences. Blesh has been with the district since 2013.
McIntyre joins the district from Center County Government as chief financial officer. However, she is no stranger to KCSD, having served as the school district’s fiscal operations supervisor. While in this role, she was responsible for overseeing the business office staff and tax office operations.
She said she is excited to return to KCSD.
“I’m excited to be back serving the community I live in. My daughters are on their way to attending CMHS and continuing their education at LHU.” McIntyre said. “I look forward to being a part of the dynamic business office team and with their insight and input, together we can make strides to become an even greater asset to the district.”
She believes she will fit right into her role.
“(I) look forward to working with the administration team where the relationships will foster a positive school culture.” McIntyre said.
KCSD Superintendent Jacqueline Martin was pleased with the rental.
“Johnny has extensive experience in school and public finance, and she is fully committed to our KCSD community as a student, parent, resident and taxpayer.” Martin said. “This is a critical leadership role and I believe she is the perfect fit at the right time.”
Jeff Wall serves as interim business manager while the district searches for Blation’s replacement. Wall was hired through the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials (PASBO). Wall is a retired school administrator with many years of experience.
Martin worked with Wall in the Penns Valley Area School District.
“Jeff Wall has been instrumental in supporting district operations during our transition. His wealth of knowledge and experience, along with sound financial strategies, have been invaluable over the past several weeks.” Martin said.
Tonight is just a work session. The board will take action on the hiring during a vote next week.
If approved, her salary will be $112,000, pro-rated, effective Monday, Nov. 14, 2022, according to the terms of the employment contract between MacIntyre and KCSD.
Tonight’s work session is scheduled for 6:30pm at Central Mountain High School. The meeting is open to the public and will be streamed live on the district’s website.
