Alexandria, La. (KALB) – LSUA and CLTCC received a $900,000 grant from the Alexandria Business Foundation between both schools.

The donation announcement was made at the Alexandria Rotary Club’s weekly meeting by foundation president Stephen Wright, who also announced that the donation will be the last the foundation will make.

“We’ve really decided it’s time to make your final contribution, so we’ve contributed $2.2 million over the last 20 years, and the most important part of that money is probably the kids it’s helping,” he said. Wright

LSUA’s $600,000 donation will be used for an endowed professorship in accounting, and CLTCC’s $300,000 donation will be used for business course offerings.

LSUA is seeking approval from the Louisiana Board of Regents to use 60/40 matching funds to create the Alexandria Business Foundation Endowed Chair in Accounting.

CLTCC will create the first professorship named after the Alexandria Business Foundation, along with naming the foundation’s new library.

Both schools plan to use the money within the next year.
