Maryland Today | Terrapin Tech moves to St. John’s Center


Terrapin Tech, the university’s IT support, technology procurement and equipment maintenance one-stop shop, has moved from Mackeldin Library to the ground floor of the Edward St. John Learning and Teaching Center (ESJ 0398).

Administered by the Department of Information Technology (DIT), Terrapin Tech continues to support, educate, and provide the UMD community with all things technology in conjunction with other organizations located in the building: DT’s Academic Technology and Innovation Group, the Center for Teaching and Learning Transformation, and the Academy for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Terrapin Tech’s services include tuition discounts and computer counseling tailored to coursework in partnership with college advisors. Along with guaranteed on-site diagnostics and computer repairs, the Student Personnel Organization offers current students, staff, and faculty loaner equipment during warranty repairs.

Terrapin Tech provides walk-in and appointment-based assistance with DIT-supported operating systems, applications and services, as well as Internet connectivity issues. Terrapin Tech staff can provide support for data backups, data migration, virus removal and many other technical issues.

Fall 2022 Hours, beginning Monday, August 29, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-8 p.m.
