Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Hand block printed cotton collections designed by prominent fashion designer from Bhopal Mumtaz Khan enthralled the audience a lot at Trishul The Divine Fashion Show.
Popular models of the country walked the ramp to showcase Khan’s beautiful designs made with traditional and natural Bagh hand prints from Madhya Pradesh and Ajrak prints from Gujarat in his latest collection ‘Bliss’.
He stunned the fashionistas by introducing zardozi embellished cotton dresses. Bridal and party dresses for women were also introduced in cotton dresses, which was highly appreciated by the public. Similarly, he beautifully designed printed jackets with long kaftans for men as well for the show.
Ms. India International Deepti Saini from Jaipur was the show opener. TV movie actor Nirbhay Wadhwa and Miss Globe 2016 Dimple Patel were the headliners of the show. Farhan Qureshi and Naved Khan from Bhopal also walked the ramp at the fashion show that was held in Mumbai recently.
Internationally renowned fashion designer Mumtaz khan is known for his traditional prints, sheer fabric and Indo-Western cuts. He has exhibited Bagh Print, Chanderi, Maheshwari, Daboo and Batik print of Madhya Pradesh in many fashion weeks. He has popularized Bagh Print, a traditional MP print in the world of fashion and glamour. He has also revived the traditional royal fashion and Zari zardozi and brought it in trend.
Khan has designed costumes for the award-winning film Mehram for Farida Jalal, Shushma Seth and Ranjit Kapoor. He has designed costumes for the production of The Merchant of Venice, Fbb Femina Miss India 2017 and Miss India Earth Shaan. He has showcased his collection at LIFFT India Film Mahotsav – a world cinema festival in 2018 and 2019.
Khan has made a record by designing two skirts of thousands of meters of fabric on the Rajasthan Foundation Day. He has designed 300 meter flare Lehenga on Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day. His stunning design of a 170 meter skirt was presented at ‘India at 70’ in Glasgow Scotland, UK in 2017 under the Independence Day celebration.
He is the recipient of many national and international awards including Iconic Fashion Designer of the Year, Best Celebrity Designer 2019 (North India), Most Promising Designer 2020, Special Jury Award at Kala Samruddhi International Film Festivals. He has been a judge in many international film festivals and has participated in many workshops on hand block printing, zardozi work and weaving of Madhya Pradesh.
