“Whether it’s a B2C, B2B or B2G segment, we’re always looking to solve real-life issues that people face. With the growth of e-commerce, it became a shopper’s pet peeve to convince employees to send addresses. The same is the case with visitors,” he says.

In the B2B segment, Pattaya is solving the last mile logistics and courier companies’ issues by providing the right place to deliver packages.

“We are providing addresses to people living on unnamed streets by giving visibility to businesses, buying loans, etc. Providing all these solutions and simplifying India’s unstructured addressing system is what motivated us to start our company,” he says proudly.

“We identified this problem in our travels with unstructured and unquoted addresses in India. We realized that it is difficult to find and share an address. Apart from that, we found that most people find it very annoying when they have to explain their address repeatedly to a visitor or delivery person. In search of a global solution to this everyday problem, Mohit and I created this amazing We have built a team of software engineers and academics who have developed applications, he added.

What do they do?

PATA is built on a secure AWS infrastructure with NodeJS-based microservices and scalable architecture. It consumes many AWS services, but not limited to EC2, VPC, Load balancing, Auto scaling, S3 Bucket, Polly, Cognito, ACM, Route53 and others. The mobile applications are natively developed with iOS and Android and developed in Swift and Java.

Users can create personalized or customized shortcodes like ^SINGH221, ^KUMAR100, record voice directions to a nearby location with the user’s voice, add and create photos of their location by entering the long address only once in the app. Pata extensions that can be shared by every family member or office colleague at the same address.

“With Pata, you can say goodbye to all your contacts who will forever describe and share woes,” Jain proudly said.

Certain areas such as campuses or gated communities may have special considerations for visitors, eg, basement parking, one way, etc.

“The Pataa app allows the user to add these specific comments so that the visitor has prior information,” he added.

The app offers a live visitor tracking system that allows real-time tracking of food and postal deliveries.

“The best thing is that even if your location changes, your personal shortcode stays the same, which means you don’t have to explain your address again and again,” he says.

Patta USP

The main difference between Google and PATA is that the PATA address-giving app provides a unique digital address code to the user.

“With our 3*3 square meter block system, users can drop a pin on their login to get real access. Other features of Pata like extensions etc make Pata very different from Google,” he explains.

He also adds that most navigation applications use satellite data or data from maps.

“The Pata app is the only app that solves the problem of long and complex addresses with real data fed to the target audience/user because no one can tell the best route to their home better than the user,” he says.

An advantage of the Pata app over other apps is that it is available in Hindi and other major languages, making it accessible to people in rural areas.
