PMQ Hong Kong presents ‘FabriX’, a brand new pilot program for digital fashion


HONG KONG, September 2, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Periodic blackouts accelerated the digitization of all industries and the migration to a Web 3.0 world. Major fashion houses and lifestyle brands are diving into the Metaverse with virtual products and collections. Hong Kong The premier creative lifestyle destination PMQ is all about translating creativity into business opportunities for the city’s most talented fashion designers, and leading the way in the digital fashion arena. Presented by PMQ and with Create Hong Kong of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as main sponsor, FabriX it’s Hong Kong the pioneering digital fashion initiative to enter this new reality of fashion pixel weaving – the first of its kind in facilitating local fashion designers from sketching, design, 3D digital production to listing on global digital fashion marketplaces .

First ever FabriX has selected 12 outstanding ones Hong Kong designers and teamed up with local digital elites to produce their first digital fashion collection. From now on September 11, 2022, an 11-day event will be hosted at PMQ, with a keynote exhibition, a series of design dialogues and pop-up exhibitions for the public to learn about and experience the endless possibilities of digital fashion. The 3-day premier showcase is an interactive, futuristic visual feast filled with fashion, visual art and technology to showcase the limitless creativity and story behind the inspiration of each fashion creation.

The 12 designers include: Cady Lee of the rising star clothing label CADYLEE; Celine Kwan of women’s clothing brand CELINE KWAN; The Christian Stone of the strong brand of cyberpunk THE CHRISTIAN STONE; Derek Chan of the local gender-neutral clothing brand demon; Harrison Wong of menswear brand HARRISON WONG; Judy Wong of the jewelry brand Top Top; For Kwok clothing brand IN KWOK, Paul Ho AND Andy Wong e LOOM LOOP; Mike Yeungdesigner of NILMANCE STUDIO; Shek Leung of menswear brand CENTURY LEUNG; Wilson Yip e Wilsonkaki; AND Jason Lee e YMDH (You make dad happy). Their digital fashion collections will be listed and available for purchase on leading digital fashion marketplaces and NFT platforms including BlueArk, THE DEMATERIALIZED and DRESSX from mid-September onwards.

FabriX is curated by an experienced team including William ThoExecutive Director of PMQ, Shin WongCreative consultant and overseas program, PMQ and FabriX project director together with fashion curator Declan Chanbringing a whole new virtual fashion showcase experience to the public.
