Small Town Curves at 300 S. Main in Pratt is a full-service bridal salon offering wedding dresses, bridesmaids’ dresses and mother of the bride dresses and tuxedos. A special runway show Sunday afternoon at Pratt Community College proved that this oasis of a clothing store in south-central Kansas has a lot to offer younger ladies from throwback dresses and special occasion jewelry.

“We had such a great turnout for our first HOCO exhibit,” owner Samantha Gwin said in a Facebook post. “Our ambassadors looked beautiful and were absolutely amazing. We hope everyone liked what they saw and we can’t wait to help you find your dresses! Stay tuned for big announcements and Prom Expo ’23 dates!”

Regular hours for homecoming apparel buyers are Wednesday-Friday 11:00am – 5:30pm, Saturday 10:00am – 4:00pm and Sunday by appointment. Bridal shops are always encouraged to make appointments to allow for specialized attention. These appointments can be made online at www.smalltowncurves.com.

Local girls were the focus of Sunday afternoon’s HOCO Expo, however, complete with runways to model several styles and colors of the new mostly short dresses in stock at Small Town Curves.

“We never sell the same dress to a school,” Gwin said. “So girls don’t have to worry about seeing the same dress they wore on someone else at prom or homecoming.”

There were plenty of bright orange dresses on stage for Sunday’s show, however, in a variety of styles that were just right for the fall season, especially if the temperatures stay warm.

Jodi Swayden’s daughter Jaelynn was one of the stage models for the Small Town Curves Homecoming Expo. “She was amazing as all ambassadors are!!” said Swayden said.

Gwin hopes the homecoming showcase will become an annual event for area young women who want to help bring attention to the beautiful dress options available at Pratt for special occasions.

Several local young women worked as models for Pratt business, Small Town Curves first Homecoming Expo, held Sunday at Pratt Community College. Business owner Samantha Gwin was delighted with the occasion and hopes to make it an annual Pratt fashion event. Courtesy photo
