Scalenut’s AI copywriter also helps content make a dent in search engine results – TechCrunch

AI copywriters are getting a lot of attention from investors. A couple that have recently raised funding include Copy.ai and Copysmith. Scalenut is now led by Amit Singhal, a former senior vice president of Google and head of Google Search, with $3.1 million in funding from Sama Capital.

Scalenut, which was launched earlier this year by Mayank Jain, Gaurav Goyal and Sarabh Wadwan, has since signed up 100,000 users, mainly SMBs and mid-market sized businesses, grown its revenue 10-fold and is now clocking a seven-figure run rate.

70% of paying subscribers are from the United States, United Kingdom and Canada, while the rest are from Asian countries. The last round of funding was a $400,000 seed round led by Titan Capital, First Principles VC, Angelist, Abhishek Goyal and other angel investors.

When asked how Scalenut differentiates itself from other AI copywriting startups, Jen said, “While Copy.ai, Copysmith and very few other tools build a layer on top of vanilla integration; [language model] At GPT-3, we have instead built a comprehensive content marketing suite that automates the entire content workflow.

“Our in-house deep learning models and integration with other NLP providers allow end users to create content that has the potential to rank higher on search engines, thus driving organic growth,” he said. “Having said that, we also host one of the highest quality comprehensive copywriting tools.”

One of Scalenut’s key differences is that it covers the entire content lifecycle, from content planning to research, writing, and SEO optimization.

Jane demonstrated the platform for TechCrunch. For example, a green tea manufacturer who wants to blog about the benefits of the drink first uses a keyword to create topic cluster reports, or lists possible topics within a keyword cluster. If you select the topic cluster “green tea benefits”, you will see keywords such as “green tea benefits”, “dandelion benefits”, and “tazo green tea benefits”, among many others.

Then you open the report you want and you will see the statistics of the 30 URLs already ranked on search engines, as well as their detailed descriptions. Other information includes questions people ask about the topic on Google or Reddit, quotes, and keywords to help content rank better in search engines.

Once the content creator has this information, they can enter Scalenut’s “Cruise Mode”. It provides a topic, defines an outlet, provides writing points and creates a first draft, as well as SEO insights you can use to optimize your content.

Jain says users rely on Scalenut to create in-depth blog posts, including how-tos, lists, “why” posts, FAQs and comparison posts. Scalenut’s SEO optimization features tell users how long their posts should be. He can write blog posts up to 10,000 words, but Jane says they’re usually between 1,200 and 1,500 words.
