About the amazing thing about running backs Keshawn King And Luck black:
“They’re two of the most explosive guys on our roster. What’s amazing to me right now is how much they’ve improved. They’ve invested in both of them. Coach [Stu] Holt He has done an excellent job. Thinking, maturity, meeting and practice approach. Their difference is evident and now it shows in their game.”
On the second recipient group:
“We’re still a work in progress. I think the depth should continue to grow every week in most areas of our team. It doesn’t stop because the season starts. We have to continue to develop depth throughout the year.”
Linebackers Keonta Jenkins
How comfortable Sam feels at that linebacker position after coming off a safety:
“Going from day one to today, I feel more comfortable. I’m more comfortable with getting into the flow of the place. The details and all the movements, just picking up the keys and stuff. I’m way more confident than I was on day 1.”
On the translation from change of location:
“It’s just picking up the pace of the game and seeing and believing the tight ends on the linebacker side. But everything from the transition from safety to linebacker is the same, with coverage and everything. And read keys.”
Offensive lineman Johnny Jordan
Finally being able to arrange for the Old Dominion:
“It’s great. We’ve been going against each other and now being able to prepare for an opponent is a nice change of pace. We’re really focused every day on learning what to do and what to do. We’re not going to let it go.
As it’s his last season in college and what are his personal goals:
“I’d love to win a bowl game. That’s a big thing for me. I’ve only been to one, so that would be a big accomplishment for me and the icing on the cake for my career. But really, I’m just focused on the team and making sure we have the best year we can have and Coach Prine. It’s about getting off to a good start with VT fans.”
