Tech placed sixth in the Carmel Cup


Pebble Beach, Calif. – The No. 24 Texas Tech women’s golf program finished sixth Sunday in the 2022 Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach Golf Club.

The Red Raiders were led by youth. Gala Dumez He scored a combined three rounds of -1 and finished sixth. As a team, Texas Tech (+33) made the most field goals (217) of any team in the eighth team.

A pair of Red Raiders finished tied for 24th place Chiara Hoarder He shot a final round 71 (-1) to finish with a +9 overall. Hoarder rebounded from an opening round of 81 with back-to-back strong rounds.

Freshman Lauren Zaretsky also finished in 24th place.

Stanford posted a combined team score of -12 to advance to the team title. The Cardinal finished 13 shots ahead of Texas A&M (+1). Big 12 foe Oklahoma State finished third (+16), followed by Mississippi State (+24) and Arkansas (+28).

Oklahoma finished seventh at +58, one shot ahead of ninth-place Vanderbilt (+59).

After shooting a course record 63 Saturday, Stanford’s Rose Zhang (-13) shot a round of 72 Sunday to finish five shots behind teammate Meghan Ganne (-8).
