The Houston Cougars remain on the road Saturday to face the Texas Tech Red Raiders at 4 pm ET, September 10 at Jones AT&T Stadium. Both teams will be looking to continue their winning streak.

It may have taken triple overtime to get the job done, but the Cougars finally got what they were hoping for with a 37-35 victory over the UTSA Roadrunners last week. The victory came after a strong surge to overcome a 21-7 deficit after the third quarter. In addition to rushing for one TD and 51 yards, Houston QB Clayton Twin had three TDs and 206 yards passing on 32 attempts.

Meanwhile, Texas Tech turned the game against the Murray State Racers into a track meet, going 601 yards to 258. The Red Raiders easily took home the contest last week with a 63-10 win over MSU. The game was decided at the half when the score reached 42-10. Texas Tech QB Donovan Smith had a career passing for four TDs and 221 yards on 16 attempts.

The last time the two teams met in September of last year, the Cougars lost to Texas Tech by a score of 38-21. Can Houston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We’ll find out soon enough.
