In what was one of the greatest introductions in all of college football, the 61st Masked Rider Caroline Hobbs and the newly named Centennial Champion began as a new alliance with Murray State. The fearless champion played at Texas Tech for a decade, but now it’s his centennial season.
The first run of the century was not a polished veteran but that comes with time. Playing in front of a crowd of 50,000 for the first time is tough for Texas Tech players. I bet the Centennial champion 5-star quarterback will be as acclimated to the bright lights as he was in his first season.
The Centennial champion will have another chance to lead the team on Sept. 10 against Houston at Jones AT&T Stadium.

The Centennial champion may not be out the door, but Texas Tech’s offense certainly tied the Mary State Trail Blazers with 42 first-half points. Tyler Shaw left early with an injury, but the offense didn’t miss a beat as Donovan Smith added four touchdown drives to end the half.
