The Santa Maria Public Library offers technical assistance on Saturdays.

The Santa Maria Public Library will host Tech Help Saturdays, September 3rd and 17th from 11am to 1pm.

Tech Help Saturday allows people to meet one-on-one with library staff for a 25-minute session to learn more about having a personal smart device in the library.

Participants can learn how to access and download e-books and audiobooks using apps available for free with a library card.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own devices to receive instruction on how to find and download e-books and audiobooks, and on technology topics such as installing apps, creating email accounts, and ensuring online privacy.

The program does not include assistance with hardware maintenance, virus removal, financial transactions or applications that require users to enter sensitive information.

Sessions are available by appointment only by calling the library at (805) 925-0994 extension 8562.

The library is located at 421 South McClelland Street.
