Turkish Airlines MRO entered the Airbus A330 cargo conversion business


Airbus partner Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH (EFW), a passenger transport company, and Turkish National Airlines, Turkey Technic MRO Company, have announced that they are internationally recognized as J&G Part 145 and Part 21 organizations. New collaboration on A330P2F conversions.

Through this collaboration, TurkTech will be the first MRO company to provide conversion solutions for the EFW A330P2F program. EFW’s first A330P2F conversion is scheduled to take place at TurkTech’s Istanbul facility in the third quarter of 2023.

“We have a P2F order book that reflects the strong market demand for Airbus freighter conversions, with the A330P2F program increasingly emerging as a next-generation platform in medium and widebody,” said Jordi Botto, CEO of EFW.

According to our media partner Aeroine, the EFW A330P2F program is in partnership with ST Engineering and Airbus, with EFW holding additional type certification and leading the overall program, marketing and sales efforts.

The A330P2F program has two variants. The A330-200P2F can carry a gross payload of up to 61 tons over 7,700 km, while the A330-300P2F can carry a gross payload of up to 63 tons and a cargo capacity of ~18,581ft3 (~526m3).

To meet the growing freighter demand, ST Engineering and EFW have established new conversion centers in China and the United States, including the A330P2F, A320P2F and A321P2F.
