Twelve hockey players will receive Easton/NFCA Scholar-America honors


Louisville, Ky. – After a stellar season on and off the field, 12 members of the Virginia Tech softball team were named Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes, the association announced Monday.

Kayleigh Addington, James Bailey, Kelsey Brown, Grace ChavezFaith Howard, Molly Jacobson, Mackenzie Lawter, Maija Louko, Alexa Milius, Morgan Overaitis, Jenna PearsonAnd Maddie Rountree Earned All-America Scholar-Athlete honors after completing the 2021-22 academic year with a 3.5 GPA or higher. As a team, the Hokies finished spring 2022 with a 3.36 GPA.

The NFCA saw 7,527 college student-athletes earn Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2021-22 academic year.

Earlier this summer, six Hokies were named to the All-ACC Academic Team as the Hokies completed an impressive year on the field and in the classroom. Virginia Tech won the 2022 ACC regular season title as well as advancing to the NCAA Super Regionals for the second consecutive season.

The Hokies will add several talented newcomers and return the core of their starting lineup for the 2022-23 school year, which will begin building this fall through spring.
