A high-tech autographed portrait of Warren Buffett was auctioned Tuesday night at the Oracle of Omaha’s 92nd birthday.
The winning bidder at the eBay auction paid $75,100 for a favorite charity.
The portrait, created by Motiva Art, features a grid of letters on top of the painting to express the Berkshire Hathaway CEO’s 11 most famous quotes.
A portrait of Buffett, painted in 10 minutes outside Berkshire’s annual meeting by artist Michael Israel, fetched $100,000 in 2008.

Proceeds go to Girls Inc., which provides educational, cultural and recreational programs for young women in Buffett’s hometown.
The nonprofit has also benefited from many other items the investor has auctioned off over the years.

Before the pandemic, Buffett had been auctioning off private lunches every year for 20 years, raising millions for charity.
A June luncheon auction that raised $19 million for the California-based Glide Foundation, which helps the homeless in San Francisco, attracted such astronomical winning bids that Buffett said this year would be his last.

Buffett once sold an old wallet containing stock tips and raised $210,000 for the company. And in 2015, someone paid more than $122,000 for Buffett’s 2006 Cadillac with a dash on it.
