Vitricity, a provider of wireless charging for electric vehicles, has licensed its wireless charging technology to Wayfarion. Wiferion is a provider of mobile wireless power supplies for a variety of industrial applications, including automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs).

“We are excited to see Wiferion join our other licensees to expand the possibilities of wireless charging,” said Alex Gruzen, CEO of Vitricity. “We look forward to partnering with Wiferion to leverage our pioneering technology to power the future of industrial automation and accelerate growth in the industry.”

Wiferion’s non-contact, inductive charging system powers a fleet of vehicles regardless of voltage, current or battery type.

“Still today, Wiferion’s etaLINK wireless charging solutions are powering thousands of mobile robots around the world. Acquiring WiTricity’s patent portfolio will allow us to further enhance our value proposition and accelerate wireless charging through industrial automation,” said Florian Reiner, Wiferion CEO. We look forward to partnering with WiTricity on our mission to enable an electrified economy and set the standard for wireless charging applications.

“Witricity has an extensive IP portfolio. Wiferion plans to leverage some of their findings with new features and even new products,” said Julian Seume, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of Wiferion.

The Wiferion system has been designed into more than 100 different vehicles of which more than 5,000 units are sold worldwide, including installation in all of Europe’s best car manufacturing facilities.
