The team event was held at Mirabell Golf Club, a 7,118-yard, par-70 course in Scottsdale, Ariz., in the same area as Greyhawk Golf Club, the site of the NCAA Championship last spring and each of the next two years.
For individuals not in their teams’ starting lineup, a corresponding 54-hole event was held simultaneously on the outdoor course at Mount Desert. Three Tech players participated in the individual event, and freshman Hiroshi Tai shot a 202 to finish 14th.
Participating teams include Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, Clemson, East Tennessee State, Florida State, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, New Mexico, NC State, Oregon, San Diego State, Tennessee, UCLA, UNLV, Washington and Wake Forest.
