ST. George, Utah. – The Cal State Fullerton women’s volleyball team lost to the Utah Tech Trailblazers 3-0 on Friday evening at Burns Arena.
The Titans move to 1-2 on the season while Utah Tech improves to 3-1 on the season.
The Titans had a nervous start to the match after the Trailblazers took an 8-3 lead in the first set. The Titans battled back to within 2 points several times in the first set, but in the end Utah Tech won the first set 25-18. Julia Crawford led the Titans with 5 kills.
The second started with a back and forth tie between the two parties. Utah Tech took a 10-6 lead before the Titans were able to tie it back at 12-12. The Titans would continue to rally in the set before finding their lead at 19-18. However, the Trailblazers got a boost late in the set and took the second set 25-22.

The Titans couldn’t get anything going in the third set until the decision ended. The Trailblazers’ 8-2 lead turned into a 16-3 lead. The Titans rallied late to make it a 25-13 final set.

The Titans attacked at a .093 clip for the match while the Trailblazers hit with a .283 hitting percentage. Utah Tech had 2 service aces to the Titans’ 8. The Titans also had 8 errors to the Trailblazers’ 2 hitting errors. Julia Crawford led the Titans in the 12 kilos. Keyanna Robinson led the Titans with 5 blocks.

The Titans stay in Utah when they travel to Cedar City, Utah to take on the Southern Utah Thunderbirds on Saturday, September 3rd. The first service is set for 1:00 PM PST.
