Replying to this, Chiranjeevi said, “Even if Pawan Kalyan had played the role it would have been no way lesser. But we wanted to an actor with a pan-Indian appeal that would bring North-South balance. That’s the reason we discussed and decided Salman Bhai will be a better option.”
“Even if I had told Pawan Kalyan, he would have told me to go with Salman Khan,” he added, as reported by Indian Express.
Previously in an interview, Chiranjeevi had revealed that Salman agreed to feature in the movie without reading the script, adding that the Bollywood superstar also refused to take any payment for his cameo. Interestingly, when Salman was offered money for the role, he said that one cannot buy his love towards Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi.

Meanwhile, after the film’s release, Salman had also shared a sweet video message for Chiranjeevi on Instagram. In the same, the actor could be heard saying, “My dear Chiru Garu, I love you. I heard that GodFather is doing really well. Congrats. God bless you. You know by Chiru Garu? Kyuki iss desh aur is desh ki janta mein hai bada dam, Vande Matram.”
GodFather has been produced by Ram Charan, R. B. Choudary and N. V. Prasad under their banners Konidela Production Company and Super Good Films. It is a remake of the 2019 Malayalam film Lucifer.
