Wyche celebrates centennial practice by donating to Fellowship > GSA Business.


Wiche is celebrating a century of law practice by awarding funds to one person in the state to participate in one of South Carolina’s most prestigious and unique fellowship programs.

Wiche joined forces with Liberty Fellowship to mark the centennial anniversary of the Greenville-based law firm. “The Challenge to Lead” calls on the business community to help build the next generation of leaders in South Carolina by investing in a rigorous leadership program together.

Wiche is putting $55,000 into the program over the next three years and has challenged other state and regional businesses to match or exceed the organization’s commitment.

The dedication to Wyche is part of the firm’s celebration of 100 years of practicing law in South Carolina, according to a news release. This and other contributions made by Wyche over the past year are part of the organization’s Centennial Legacy Project, designed to reflect and renew Wyche’s commitment to the core principles of community service: business community development, social impact, community change and environmental stewardship.

Liberty Fellowship is the only state-based fellowship program in the United States, and more than 300 Liberty Fellows work together throughout South Carolina. The Alliance strives to empower individual leaders with a deeper understanding of a fair, free and just society. It serves as a forum to bring together diverse perspectives to advance civil discourse; And it provides the infrastructure to act upon the release. Freedom Fellowship is a non-partisan, non-sectarian, non-dogmatic organization that operates independently of the positions and views of its funders.

Liberty Fellows are selected based on an extensive nomination and interview process designed to evaluate candidates who offer unique and diverse perspectives to address the most critical issues facing South Carolinians. Participants are selected based on both merit and commitment to the community.
