LAS VEGAS – Cody Durden defeated Carlos Mota by unanimous decision on Saturday’s preliminary card at UFC Fight Night 213 in Las Vegas.
Watch his fight against Durden, who picked up his second straight win after a loss in March.
Durden at the key moment of the fight
“That was a tough fight, but I knew what I was getting myself into.[He was]a two-time LFA champion – LFA’s most respected organization. He was tough everywhere. He’s a (jiu-jitsu) black belt, got four punches. The last opponent he fought, he knocked him out. But I don’t think he landed a punch on his feet with me.
Durden on hot strength
“I was in shape. I was ready. I checked anybody, anytime, anywhere. Claydson Rodriguez was out six days ago. They gave me an opponent and it was Carlos, and I said, ‘I don’t care.’ I texted Dana White and said, ‘Dude, who? It doesn’t matter if you put it in there. We’re fighting.’ “This is how I provide for my family. This is all I do. I don’t have a plan B. It’s a plan A.”
Durden on what he wants next
I’ll fight anyone, but I think we have unfinished business with Claydson. He released it six days ago – no explanation. (He) just left Mia. I heard he was injured. no more. … Let’s reschedule that. That’s right.”
