Dems Bob Stefanowski weighs in on trade arrangement with Saudi prince.

HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) – More questions were raised at a business event with Republican candidate for Governor Bob Stefanowski on Monday.

Bob Stefanowski said he couldn’t disclose his business because of client privilege, but it was a leak and Stefanowski felt he needed to address it.

Stefanowski confirmed that he is a consultant for a company controlled by a Saudi Arabian prince.

America’s relationship with Saudi Arabia has been strained.

While they are believed to be allies in terrorism, 19 of the 21 hijackers in the 911 hijackings were Saudi nationals and most recently in the brutal murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Stefanowski said, “I asked for and received permission from my client to expand my nondisclosure agreement and share more details. It is related to my work on one of the most important technologies to combat global warming – green hydrogen. Allentown, Pennsylvania-based Air Products Inc. has partnered with two Saudi companies.

At a press conference on Monday, Congressman Jim Himes spoke about Bob Estefanowski’s financial deal with the Saudi government.

“This is a brutal, murderous regime and it’s time to cut ties regardless of what they do or don’t do to help us in our counter-terrorism efforts.” At that moment, Bob Stifanowski made a different decision. He said it’s time to go to work with this guy,” Himes says.

Laura Devlin appeared at a Democrat event with Stefanowski running for Lt. Governor.

“Climate change is a real issue and the world’s largest green energy hydrogen project would make a lot of sense. It’s important not to try and do something that isn’t right,” says Devlin.

Ron Shurin, a professor of political science at UConn, weighs in on how this news will affect voters.

“It’s not a bomb, but it’s useless,” Shurin said.

“The kind of people who care are the people who vote for Ned Lamont. Either way, I don’t think it will have much of an impact,” says Shurin.
