Creative Factory, a marketplace for digital files like print-on-demand assets, fonts and graphics, announced today the launch of its own creative AI tool. Called CF Spark, three million questions have been generated and more than 500,000 have been published by Creative Fabrica creators in the past three weeks.
As with other digital assets on the platform, users can upload their generative AI files to other members for payment, making it the first generative AI to monetize creators, according to Innovation Factory.
Backed by investors such as Felix Capital, FJ Labs and Peak Capital, Innovation Factory has a deal with Stable Diffusion, the image-generating AI system, and is partnering with OpenAI to incorporate Stability AI and Dale 2 into its ecosystem. CF Spark also uses the Dreamstudio API. Creative Factory CEO Romi Hillenaar said this mix allows users to achieve different results and covers a wide range of styles.
Creative Spark Stable Diffusion began building CF Spark before it was open-sourced, Hillenaar told TechCrunch.
“We’ve seen DALLE and MidJourney open their doors to more beta users, and we’ve taken a bet that OpenAI (make DALLE) will open their API at any moment. At the time, we were playing at the end of this year and thought we’d build the product early as if the API were available. But in the meantime, Stability AI Stable Diffusion released open source and Innovation Factory was already in the process of developing CF Spark, allowing it to adopt the new tool more quickly.
To use CF Spark, creators enter a prompt that generates four images of their choice to publish on their site. Other creative textile users can re-query AI images to get different results and upload images that create AI-generated art (eg T-shirts).
CF Spark is available for free to Creative Factory’s four million users. In total, the platform has a library of nearly six million fonts and graphics.
